Salvatore Molettieri

Montemarano, Campania, Italy

Salvatore Molettieri

Salvatore Molettieri comes from a farming family and manages his estate with his son, Giovanni, a trained oenologist. The first wine was bottled with the 1988 vintage and their biodynamic, sustainably-farmed vineyards now extend over thirteen hectares in the grand cru subzone, Montemarano, historically one of the finest crus of the appellation.

At 550m altitude, the dry wind blows through the vineyards ensuring healthy grapes. Perfect ripening occurs here in the first week of November, producing powerful, concentrated wines. These dense, deep wines age magnificently well and show
a freshness and balance rarely found in Campania.
